What do you do in a nursing station at a hospital?

Helloo ! I'm just wondering what do you do in a nursing station at a hospital? I'm going to volunteer there in a couple of weeks and i just want to know what to do ahead of time so when i get there i can start. So if anybody can please help me, thank you ! :)
