Isn't it ok to hold a potential boyfriend to a higher standard than you would hold others?

I am very forgiving and tolerant, but when it comes to someone who is a potential boyfriend, I don't tolerate as much. Then I get accused of being intolerant and unforgiving. Shouldn't I have a high standard though?
