I impersonated my dad and forged his name on a traffic ticket.?

The officer that wrote up the ticket is charging me with forgery. It was just filled in to the county last week. what kind of reprocussions could i be looking at? Also, how long will it take to process? I have not been informed of anything by any law enforcement. How will they contact me if they follow threw with the charges?
